Good Radio Shows, Inc. Is a 501 (c) (3 ) nonprofit media organization creating broadcast programs, online content, and printed materials that inform, inspire, and improve the human condition. Topic areas include peacemaking and conflict resolution, social justice, media literacy, education, the environment, the performing arts, literature, the humanities, current events and public affairs. The programs are broadcast to the public primarily via public radio and on the internet and by distributing these programs as podcasts and similar media to individuals, schools, and libraries for their educational use.
Good Radio Shows, Inc. was founded in May of 2003 by broadcast veteran Paul Ingles, who wanted to create a place of support for educational public interest media programs made by himself and other producers. In a broadcasting career that began in 1975, many of Paul's programs and reporting had already covered topics that Good Radio Shows, Inc. was pledging to include.
The series PEACE TALKS RADIO is the organization’s anchor program. Created by Ingles and Suzanne Kryder in response to the terrorist attacks on the U.S. in 2001, the series is devoted to conversation about peacemaking and nonviolent conflict resolution strategies that can be used to reduce conflict in daily and in the society at large.
Since 2003, the series has produced 12 episodes a year. Running both episodes from the series extensive archive and the new programs each year, nearly 70 stations serving 25 U.S. states have become weekly broadcast affiliates, delivering the show to tens of thousands of listeners each week. Dozens of other stations carry individual episodes, adding to the program’s reach. In addition, Good Radio Shows, Inc. has been a supportive partner on other audio projects produced by Ingles and other producers.
